Winifred Ann (Benson) Wallner

Winifred Ann Wallner, 95, of Litchfield, passed to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 25, 2023.  She was born on January 30, 1928, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Godfrey and Winifred (Wall) Benson.  Mrs. Wallner attended Lanphier High School and Springfield Secretarial School.  She worked for the State Department of Agriculture (Division of Livestock Industry); Federal Bureau of Investigation, Springfield, IL; and the State Department of Health (Division of TB Control).  She married Richard Louis Wallner on April 17, 1955, at the Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield, IL.  Mrs. Wallner was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church – LCMS.  She was very active in church functions, serving as the church organist for many years.  Mrs. Wallner is survived by:

3 daughters,   Elizabeth Ann (Fred) Barnabe of Monticello, IL

                        Mary Louise (Thom) Hart of Atwater, IL

                        Rebecca Ann Wallner of Litchfield, IL

Mrs. Wallner was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., with a Visitation the hour before at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Farmersville, IL.  Burial will be in Rovey Cemetery, Farmersville, IL.
