Wanda Lee Baker, 94, of Litchfield, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 11:54 pm at Litchfield Health & Rehab Center in Litchfield.
Born December 11, 1929, in Litchfield, a daughter of Guy and Orah (Hefley) Bandy. She attended Litchfield schools and held numerous jobs throughout her adult life. Wanda worked at Roller Derby and the Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield, a pottery business in Phoenix, AZ, and later as a housekeeper at Heritage Manor in Litchfield. She married Harold Horn in 1950, and later divorced. Wanda was married to Frank Baker in 1962 and later divorced.
Ms. Baker was a member of the Walshville Baptist Church. She greatly enjoyed embroidering, dancing, word search books, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her 3 daughters, Barbara (Larry) Payne of Litchfield, Vicki Stephens of Litchfield, and Joanna Baker of Litchfield, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Willis Bandy and Charles Bandy, 2 sisters, Fannie Mitchell and Wilma Sevier, and 1 great grandchild, Colton Gideon.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Plummer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Services is assisting the family. Wanda’s family suggests memorials be directed to the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
