Virgil "Rob" Robbins Obituary

Virgil “Rob” Levern Robbins, 94, of Litchfield, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 6:50 p.m. in Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 28, 1926, in Alton, Illinois, the son of Clark Daniel and Julia Mae (Jackson) Robbins.  He married Annie Lucetta Laurie on December 16, 1944 in Laredo, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2001. Virgil worked for Sears in Hillsboro and was a carpenter. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 436 and Litchfield VFW. Virgil enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing bingo and most of all, spending time with family.

 Mr. Robbins is survived by:

1 son;              Dale Robbins of Litchfield.

3 daughters;    Cynthia Robbins of Springfield, Kelly Robbins of Farmersville, and Julie (Matt) VanCuren

1 sister;           Delores Gross

6 grandchildren; Amanda (Bobby) Johnson, Chris Holman, Daniel (Erica) Robbins, Megan Gress, Morgan Gress, and Maverick VanCuren.

9 great-grandchildren; Nicholas Holman, Alex Holman, Isaac Wiesman, Addy Holman, Neil Guthrie, Blake Helfrich-Gress, Bentley Helfrich, Allison Barwick, and Isla Barwick.

 2 great-great grandchildren; Dylan and Sage Guthrie

Several nieces and nephews

In addition to his wife, Annie, he was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Daniel Robbins; 3 brothers, Leonard, Vown and Glen Robbins; 2 sisters, Viola Loges and Eva Robbins and 1 great-grandson, Balin Robbins  

Private family services will be held at a later date.
