Teresa "Terri" L. Mitchell

Teresa Lynn “Terri” Mitchell, 65, of Jerseyville, formerly of Litchfield, passed away on Thurs., Feb. 4, 2021 at 5:16 p.m. in her residence.  She was born on Feb. 1, 1956, in Waukegan, IL, a daughter of Joseph O’Donnell and Rochelle Marlene (Smith) Davis.  Terri graduated from Zion Benton High School with the class of 1974.  She was the Secretary at First Baptist Church of Litchfield from 2002 – 2016.  Terri then worked as the High School Secretary for Litchfield Community Unit School District #12 for 4 years, until she retired.  She married Eugene Charles Mitchell on July 12, 1975 in Zion, IL.  He survives.  Terri attended Maryville Baptist Church.  She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling & flying with her husband Gene.  In addition to her husband, Terri is survived by:

1 brother, Joseph D. (Jennifer) Davis of Litchfield

6 grandchildren, Hunter, Summer, & Taylor Noss; Jaiden, Jaymeson, & Josephine Zook

Terri was preceded in death by her father, Joseph.

Funeral services will be held on Tues., Feb. 9, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora, IL.  Rev. Tim Shrader, personal family friend and former minister of the First Baptist Church in Litchfield, will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.  Cremation will follow the services and private interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO, at a later date.  Memorials may be designated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cross Plains, TN.
