Steven Vernon Green

Steven Vernon Green, 72, of Litchfield, passed away at his residence on Friday, September 9, 2022. Mr. Green was born in Litchfield on July 27, 1950, a son of S. Vernon and Virginia Lee (Watkins) Green. He graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1968, and attended Lincoln Land Community College. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He and the former Christine Gail Frost were married on August 21, 1971 in North Redding, MA. She survives. He was a carpenter by trade, working first with his father and later self-employed. He was family-focused. He enjoyed woodworking, furniture making, and working on and rebuilding desktop computers. An animal lover, he raised St. Bernard and Newfoundland dog breeds. He was a member of VFW Post 3912 in Litchfield. In addition to his wife Chris, he is survived by:

2 sons, Seth (Lorry) Green of Seattle, WA and Andrew J. Green of Litchfield.

1 daughter, Sarah (Dale) Beal of Litchfield.

9 grandchildren, Jacob Greene; Zachary (Megan) Greene; Peyton (Christopher) Six; Danyon Beal; Collin Pillow; Sorin Green; Sylas Green; Matthew Green; & Hailey Green.

1 great-grandchild, Jamison Greene.

Funeral services for Mr. Green will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Montgomery County Cancer Association or Montgomery County PAWS Care.
