Shirley Jean Wilson, 85, of Litchfield, passed away at 9:12 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born September 8, 1940, in Litchfield, a daughter to Harry and Emma (Burkhart) Booher. She graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1958. Shirley and Paul D. Wilson were married on June 26, 1982, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Mr. Wilson survives.
Shirley worked in the office at Brown Shoe Factory before beginning her 38-year career with First National Bank. Shirley and Paul celebrated her retirement in 2006 with a trip to Hawaii. They enjoyed visiting Panama Beach, Florida, every winter for 2 or 3 months. Shirely was active until the end of her life: she enjoyed mowing grass with her riding mower and tending her flowers inside and outside; she enjoyed card games and board games; yard sale shopping and auctions; collecting dolls; taking rides to look at yards and houses; she loved the home she and Paul built and decorated together; she enjoyed decorating her house for all seasons, especially Christmas; and she loved to search for recipes online and cooking.

Her half-sister, Deloris Frazier Fernandez
Several nieces & nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; Lindsey Hollo, who resided with Shirley and Paul for 5 years and was loved as a daughter; and her brother, Ronald Lee “Butch” Booher.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 12:00 noon, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. The family suggests memorials be directed to Benld Adopt-A-Pet.
