Shirley Maxine Baugh, 86, of Litchfield, passed away Tues., Apr. 16, 2019 at 4:25 p.m. in Hillsboro Area Hospital. She was born on Feb. 23, 1933 in Ashton, IL, the daughter of Frank O. & Nellie M. (Hayes) Whitsell. Shirley graduated from Gillespie High School with the Class of 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Litchfield where she had helped with Vacation Bible School over the years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling, sewing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She often volunteered her time serving with the Meals on Wheels program. She was a farm wife, but had also worked as a secretary at Gillespie High School and as a substitute school bus driver for Litchfield Community School District #12. She married Larry Winston Baugh on Jan. 14, 1952 in Dixon, IL. He survives. Besides her husband, she is survived by:

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Randall Baugh; 1 son-in-law, Hal Keistler.
Funeral services will be held Sat., Apr. 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Brother Ed Fogle, of Litchfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The family suggests memorials to Meals on Wheels or Alzheimer’s Association.
