Shane A. Tomazzoli

Shane Allen Tomazzoli, 48, of Nokomis, formerly of Litchfield, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago, IL. He was born June 13, 1972 in Springfield, IL, a son of Richard Allen Tomazzoli and Linda Sue (Bangert) Tomazzoli. Shane attended Litchfield High School. Shane married the former Mona Carroll and they later divorced. Shane was an Operating Engineer employed by Operating Engineers Local 965-Springfield, of which he was a member for the past 25 years. He enjoyed farming, fishing, side-by-side riding, walking through the timber, and especially cherished his daughter, Jenna.  Shane is survived by:

Several  cousins, Dawn (Dave) Steward of Buellton, CA; Paul (Lisa) Tomazzoli, Jr., of Cobden, IL; Sean (Michelle) Tomazzoli of Germantown, IL; Tina (Joe) Tylisz of Lithia, FL; Joe Norris of Langleyville, IL; Terra and Tina Tomazzoli both of Springfield, IL;  Tara (Nathan) Gerl of Litchfield, Robert (Carrie) Bangert, Jr., of Litchfield, and Michelle (John) Hopper of Litchfield.

Shane was preceded in death by his mother, Linda; paternal grandfather, Mario Tomazzoli; maternal grandparents Murel and Garnett (Simpson) Bangert; uncle, Robert G. Bangert, Sr.; aunts Mary Tomazzoli and Vicki Corrado; and infant sister, Angela Sue Tomazzoli.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Mike Rogers of Litchfield Southern Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made FBO Jenna Tomazzoli, C/O Richard Tomazzoli.
