Scott Michael Langen

Scott Michael Langen, 50, of Portland, OR, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in Portland.  He was born January 11, 1972 in Springfield, IL, a son of Donald Edward Langen and the former Becky Gale Budberg.  He graduated Litchfield High School in 1990 and went on to earn his master’s degree in English from Eastern Illinois University.  Mr. Langen was a professional grant writer who assisted several 501-C3 charitable organizations.  He was an avid reader and an excellent cook. 

He is survived by:

His mother, Becky Langen, of Litchfield;

partner, Jay Orantes, of Portland, OR;

brother, Douglas M. Langen of Litchfield;

2 aunts, Connie (Randy) Speck, of Ft. Meyers, FL & Irene Horcher, of Brookfield, WI;

and several cousins.   

He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, Ted Budberg, Shirley (Larry) Fisherkeller, paternal grandparents, Howard & Ruth Langen, and sister, Jennifer E. Langen.

Mr. Langen’s ashes will be scattered along the Oregon coast.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Litchfield High School Library.
