Ruth May Welge, 95, of Litchfield, formerly of Raymond, passed away on Wed., May 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born on Sept. 16, 1924, in Modoc, IL, a daughter of Noble and Nettie (Dunlap) Brown. Ruth married Clarence E. Welge on March 7, 1941 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2005. She worked in Waggoner School as a cook. Ruth also worked on the Walch Turkey Farm, and at Webb Boiler Plant in Poultry Processing. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Litchfield. Ruth enjoyed taking care of her family and was known to be a very good cook. She is survived by:
1 son, Jerry Welge of Coffeen
2 daughters, Jeanette (Karl) Hobson of Farmersville; Helen Stuhmer of Port Charlotte, FL
2 sisters, Vera Jones; Jessie (Leroy) Beveneau BOTH of Red Bud, IL
7 grandchildren

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Private memorial services for Ruth will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond. No visitation will be held. The family suggests memorials be made to Raymond – Harvel Volunteer Fire Department or New Hope Baptist Church in Litchfield.
