Ronnie D. Crawford, 83, of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Litchfield, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 12:12 a.m. at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO.
Born in Honey Bend on March 13, 1939, he was a son of Clyde Alvin and Mildred Lucille (Britton) Crawford. He was a graduate of Raymond High School with the Class of 1957. Mr. Crawford proudly served in the U.S. Navy during peace time. He married the former Jo Ann “Jody” Striplin on April 12, 1958 at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in rural Raymond. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2018. Mr. Crawford was employed by TWA in aircraft maintenance for 33 years and with the FAA in St. Louis, MO for 15 years as an aircraft and code inspector. He enjoyed golfing, landscaping, yard work, hunting and being outdoors.
Mr. Crawford is survived by:
2 sons; Larry (Patty) Crawford of Fort Worth, TX; and Lonnie (Lori Beth) Crawford of Weldon Spring, MO.
1 daughter; Susan (Charles) Cross of Danville, CA.
6 brothers; Harold (Kitty) Crawford of Litchfield; Lester (Beulah) Crawford of Raymond; Dale Crawford of Gillespie; David (Beverly) Crawford of Raymond; Quinlin (Lynn) Crawford of Litchfield and Ricky Crawford of Litchfield.
3 sisters; Dorothy (Donald) Warren of Joliet; Alma (Edward) Knes of Mt. Olive; and Sharon (James) Littrell of Raymond.
5 grandchildren; Jessica (Brian) Bendig; Joshua (Brooke) Crawford; Anna Crawford; Lisa Crawford; and Shawn Crawford.
5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Crawford and a sister, Leona Spears.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend. A funeral procession line-up will be organized at 1:00 p.m. at the Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield to proceed to the cemetery. The Rev. David Ziegenbein, pastor of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church will officiate. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Litchfield Veterans Memorial Garden or Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
