Ronald Fisher Obituary

Ronald Lee Fisher, 88, of Litchfield, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 1:15 p.m. at the Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Maryland Heights, MO.,   Born September 27, 1935 at Carbondale, IL. A son of Harry Frank and Ethel Gladis (Hawkins) Fisher.  Mr. Fisher was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served during peace time.  He married the former Norita Lou Weatherford on December 25, 1958 at the Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield.  Mrs. Fisher passed away on October 22, 2022.

Mr. Fisher was a professional truck driver, and a proud member of The International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He worked out of Teamsters Local #710 of Chicago, Central States Local #24 of Danville, and Local #25 of Alton.  He drove for Nabisco, Yellow Freight Lines, and Curry Ice & Coal of Carlinville. He also served in the position of Driver and Safety Officer for Curry Ice & Coal.   Mr. Fisher was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and of the Cardinals Football Team.  He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed cruising with his wife Norita and their friends. He also enjoyed taking his son, Tim, to motocross events that Tim participated in, over the years.  He also enjoyed cooking out on his grill, and the companionship of his dogs.

Surviving Mr. Fisher, are his children, son, Tim Fisher of Litchfield, and daughter, Kim (John Mark) Graham of Creve Coeur, MO., and his grandson, Luke A. Graham of Clayton, MO. He also leaves a nephew, Everett Miller.

In addition to his wife, Norita, Mr. Fisher is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James E. Fisher, and three sisters, Maxine Anderson, Ella Parks, and Harriet Farmar.

A visitation for Mr. Fisher will be held Sunday, January 14 from 11 a.m. until noon at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Private inurnment will follow. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be immediately following inurnment at the Litchfield Moose Lodge. The family suggests memorial to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
