Robert L. Marit

Robert L. Marit, 80, of Litchfield, passed away Thurs., Apr. 5, 2018 at 4:10 a.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield.  He was born on June 23, 1937 in Walshville, IL, a son of Wesley L. & Ruby Faye (Logsdon) Marit.  Mr. Marit was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He worked as a stockman at Roller Derby Skate Corp. in Litchfield for 17 years until he retired.  His previous work history included Laclede Steel in Alton, Firestone Tire & General Electric.  He is survived by:

   1 brother, Earl (Evelyn) Marit of Walnut

   Several nieces & nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Billy Marit, Donald Marit, Kenneth Marit, Charles Marit & Norman Marit.

Graveside funeral services will be held Sat., Apr. 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.  Family and friends will gather at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in go in procession to the cemetery.  Rev. Jon Magnuson, of Beacon Church in Litchfield, will officiate.  No visitation will be held.  The family suggests memorials to Litchfield Veterans’ Memorial Garden Fund or Litchfield Food Pantry.
