Robert F. “Bob” Durbin, 84, of Litchfield, formerly of rural Hillsboro, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, surrounded by family at his daughter’s rural home in Worden, IL. He was born July 31, 1936, in Butler, IL, the son of late Richard and Louise (Dullenty) Durbin. He married Mary Ann (Trunk) Durbin on Feb. 16, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Litchfield. She survives. Bob attended school in Litchfield, IL. He worked as a Union Carpenter for many years and recently received his 50-year pin. Robert built the family home on Walshville Trail in 1977. He loved being outdoors, gardening, fishing, farming, and raising livestock. He was especially passionate about woodworking, restoring Oliver tractors and spending time with his family. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield, the Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634, and the National Guard.

Therese (Dan) Saathoff of Panama
Phyllis (John) Lively of Farmersville
8 grandchildren, Lauren, Erin, Lindsey, Victoria, Kayla, Kevin, Casey and Andrew
2 great-granddaughters, Brynley and Karlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Paul Durbin; John Durbin; and infant brother.
Funeral mass for Mr. Durbin will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield with Fr. Daniel L. Willenborg presiding. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. There will be a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
