Richard Micenheimer Obituary

Richard Alan Micenheimer, 80, of Litchfield, passed away on Thurs., Jan. 7, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.  He was the New Years baby for Hillsboro, IL, born on Jan. 2, 1941, a son of Melvin Pete and Marie Esabelle (Emmons) Micenheimer.  Mr. Micenheimer was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during 1958 - 1960.  After graduating, he later received a certificate of completion from LLCC in Computer Science in 1987.  Mr. Micenheimer was a self-employed handy-man and did lawn care.  In his earlier years he worked as a welder at Fiat Allis.  He married the former Emma Lavonne Logsdon on Feb. 20, 1959 in Goldsboro, NC.  She preceded him in death in May of 2012.  Mr. Micenheimer attended Southside Church in Litchfield.  He collected trains, coins, and matchbox cars.  He enjoyed fishing and playing his luck with lottery scratch off tickets.

Richard is survived by:

1 son, Richard A. Micenheimer, II of Litchfield

1 daughter, Angela (Wayne) Pezold of Litchfield

4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert) Sparks; Kim (Jimmy) Hamilton; Kevin (Tiffany) Pezold; Kyle Pezold

8 great-grandchildren, Jordan Sparks (US Navy); Taylor Sparks; Bryce Sparks; Wyatt Sparks; Ashley Sparks; Jarrod Land; Austin Hamilton; Tyler Hamilton

Mr. Micenheimer was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma; 1 daughter in infancy, Cynthia Micenheimer; 1 sister, Frances Webb; and 1 great-granddaughter in infancy, Lilly Sparks

Memorial services for Mr. Micenheimer will be held at a later date.  Cremation rites were accorded.  Memorials may be designated to Adopt-A-Pet in Benld, or PAWS Care of Montgomery Co.

**Memorial services for Mr. Micenheimer have been announced and will be held on Fri., Feb. 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.**
