Rex Floyd Trader, 67, of Hillsboro, passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Vallejo, CA on September 14, 1955, a son of Rex Loren and Freida Marie (Mitchell) Trader. Rex graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1973. He and the former Donna Elaine Furness were married on August 18, 1974 at Witt United Methodist Church in Witt, IL. He was employed for 35 years as Director of Management Information Systems with Schutt Sports Group. Rex was a member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed barbequing and cooking out, traveling and taking his wife, Donna on vacations. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandchildren and enjoyed being a grandpa.
In addition to his wife, Donna, Rex is survived by:
2 sons, Eric (Melissa) Trader and Brandon (Angelica) Trader, both of Hillsboro.
6 grandchildren, Aliyah; Owen; Kinsley; Emersyn; Claire; and Brecken Trader, all of Hillsboro.
4 sisters, Susan Acree of Witt, IL; Tina Trader of Hillsboro, IL; Rosemary (Ron Bleyer) Trader of Litchfield, and Shirley (Mike) Hamby of Litchfield.
In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Fosnock.
Funeral services for Rex will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 12 noon at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Michael Lawton of Hillsboro United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Wares Grove Cemetery near Butler. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
