Raymond Heye Johnson

Raymond Heye Johnson, 94, of Litchfield, passed away on Wed., Jan. 26, 2022 at 7:12 p.m. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. He was born on Jan. 18, 1928 in Gillespie, IL, a son of Harry H. and Grace F. (Hendricks) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Gillespie High School and a life-long grain farmer. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He married the former Erma Lou Nobbe on Sept. 3, 1950 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield and she preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 2020.  Mr. Johnson was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, where he enjoyed participating in the Lutheran Men’s League. Raymond is survived by:

1 daughter-in-law, Christy Johnson of Litchfield

2 grandchildren, Angela Johnson of Springfield and Corey (Angie) Johnson of Litchfield

1 great-granddaughter, Blair Johnson of Litchfield

2 sisters, Elfrieda (Jack) Wilson of Gillespie, IL and Laura Hilyard of Kennesaw, GA

In addition to his wife, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert “B.J” Johnson; and a brother, Frank Johnson.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held Fri., Feb. 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Rev. Fred Kraemer will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Fri., Feb. 4, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Zion Lutheran Church.
