Patricia Clotfelter 78, of Frisco, TX, passed on August 8, 2023. She was born October 7, 1944, in Monroe, LA, the only child of Odis and Anna Mae Oliver. She lived in Bastrop, LA, until she entered high school. At midterm of her freshman year, her father, who was employed by The International Paper Company, was transferred to Litchfield, IL. It was at Litchfield Community High School where she met and later married Chuck Clotfelter in 1961. Shortly after marriage they moved to Texas to attend college.
Patricia earned both the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of North Texas. She retired after a 30 year teaching career as a 2nd grade teacher with the Plano School District.
Besides her love for her work in education, Patricia enjoyed playing games with friends and family, reading, working puzzles, her dog, and RV travels. She and Chuck toured all lower 48 states and all Canadian provinces, including ferrying their motor coach to Newfoundland. They also took cruises to Alaska and Hawaii. She enjoyed time with Chuck when he was at their farm overseeing the cattle and crops.
Patricia had a sweet, kind, and gentle spirit. She always had a good and kind word for everybody. She enjoyed her friends, her many travels, and spending time with Chuck. She is survived by Chuck, daughter Cynthia (Tony) Stick and five grandchildren. Preceding Patricia in passing were daughter Charlotte (Ken) Stephensen and granddaughter Jillian Wiese.
Patricia’s ashes will be interred in the Clotfelter family plot in Elm Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Litchfield, IL. Plummer Funeral Home is assisting the family.
