Norma June Greenwood, 97, of Litchfield, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 5:20 p.m. at the Litchfield Health & Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield, IL.
Born December 5, 1926 in Litchfield, she was a daughter of George and Letty (Brandt) Weber. She married Gene Black, but they later divorced. She then found the love of her life, Jim Greenwood, and they married in New Orleans, LA. Jim preceded her in death on May 25, 2019.
Mrs. Greenwood was active in her younger years with the love of camping, boating on Lake Lou Yaeger, taking road trips, and outings with the VFW. She also enjoyed bowling, her many animal friends, and most of all her family. Norma was an avid NASCAR fan as well.
Surviving are her sons, Gary (Patty) Black & Denny (Nancy) Black, her step sons, Michael (Michele) Greenwood, & Ronald Greenwood, and her step daughter, Mary (Dave) Wallace. Norma is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, & great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband Jim, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Fred Weber, her sister, Jean Weber, and her step daughter, Kelly Durston.
Plummer Funeral Home is in charge of services. A private family committal will take place at Crabtree Cemetery in Litchfield. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Litchfield Veterans Memorial Fund.
