Norma Jean Carney Anderson, 87, of Maryville, IL, formerly of Litchfield, passed away on Fri., Feb. 14, 2020 at 6:40 a.m. at Liberty Village in Maryville, IL. She was born on Jan. 11, 1933, in Topeka, KS, a daughter of Thomas and Christine (Percifield) Lemons. Mrs. Anderson was a 1950 graduate of Seaman High School in Topeka, KS and attended Kansas State University. Norma first married Ronald Carney in 1953, and he preceded her in death in 1976. In 1979 she married Merideth “Andy” Dale Anderson, and he preceded her in death in 2017. Mrs. Anderson was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield, where she assisted with serving funeral dinners and doing various church work. Norma enjoyed cooking, housekeeping, sewing, craftwork and traveling. Norma is survived by:

In addition to her parents and spouses, Norma was preceded in death by a son, Michael Carney; and a sister, Louise Lemons.
A graveside service for Mrs. Anderson will be held Mon., February 17. 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Benld City Cemetery in Benld, IL, The Rev. Jake Wetterlin, Pastor of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, will officiate. Visitation will be held from noon-1:30 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home. The funeral procession will line up at 1:30 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield.
