Nancy Kay Shade, 75, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the evening of Friday, August 15, 2025, in Springfield, Illinois. Nancy was born December 17, 1949, in Carlinville, Illinois, a daughter of William Milton and Edith Etta (Grigg) Hazelwood. She graduated from Girard High School. Nancy married John William Shade on October 9, 1968, in Hillsboro, Illinois. He preceded her in death March 18, 1991. She was employed as an EKG Technician for 52 years with HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. Nancy enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time outdoors. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She collected angels and butterflies. Nancy was known as an excellent cook and was famous for her homemade noodles and taco salad.

Grandchildren, Michael (Megan) Shade; Melissa Shade; Isaac (Chelsey) Shade; and Benjamin Shade

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services for Nancy will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 12 noon at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Her son, Pastor Jim W. Shade will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Honey Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be directed to HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
