Michael L. Trau, 68, of Ballwin, MO, passed away at 3:24 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Evelyn’s House Hospice in Creve Coeur, MO. He was born in Peoria, IL May 17, 1956, a son of Richard Henry & Dorothy Virginia (Yonkouski) Trau. Mike graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria with the class of 1974. He married the love of his life, Amy Jo Fleming May 27, 1978, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She preceded him in death November 27, 2016. Mike was a man of many talents and was a sheet metal worker in the HVAC industry for several contractors in the Peoria, IL area, a printing press operator at Fleming & Potter Printing Company, a driver for senior residents with the Bethesda Health Group in St. Louis, MO, and worked with the OSF St. Francis Home Medical Group in Peoria, IL. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, and a lifetime member of Hanna City Sportsman Club in Hanna City, IL. He enjoyed activities in and on the water, including leisure boating on Little Swan Lake in Avon, IL, fishing, taking cruises and going to the Gulf Coast of Alabama. He treasured time spent with family, especially his nieces and nephews and their families, was an excellent cook, grill master, and enjoyed hosting family events. Mike was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Trau; his wife, Amy; and his brother-in-law, Bryon Rutledge.
Funeral services for Mike will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1301 N. State St., Litchfield. Rev. Fred Kraemer of Zion Lutheran Church and Rev. Karl Eckhoff of Christ Lutheran Church, Peoria, IL, will co officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at Plummer Funeral Home, 404 E. Union Ave., Litchfield. The family encourages those attending the visitation to wear St. Louis Cardinals attire or “cardinal red”.
