Michael Patrick Nangle, 78, of Litchfield, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021 at 12:19 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on April 13, 1942, in East Chicago, IN, a son of Thomas Edward and Katherine (Doring) Nangle. Mr. Nangle was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during Vietnam. Mr. Nangle graduated from Hillsboro High School with the Class of 1961. He later went on to study Heating & Cooling at Vatterott Tech School. Mr. Nangle was a truck driver with Hartwig Trucking. In his earlier years he worked for Buske Lines, and Hayes Trucking in Carlinville. Mr. Nangle married the former Debra Lynne (Butts) Petty on Feb. 15, 1983 in Hillsboro. She survives. Michael enjoyed going fishing, doing carpentry projects, and country music. In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

2 great-grandchildren, Caden & Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his mother; His father & step-mother that raised him, Martha (Acheson) Nangle; 1 daughter, Capt. Amy Brown, USAF; 1 brother, Thomas C. Nangle.
Funeral services for Mr. Nangle will be held on Thurs., Feb. 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Committal service will be at 2:00 p.m. in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to the American Heart Association or Plummer Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
