Michael “Mike” Leroy Lowe, 72, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Litchfield, Illinois, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. Mike was born June 7, 1952, in Litchfield, Illinois, a son of Lester Leroy and Bernice Lee (Werner) Lowe. He graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1970. He married the former Ranee Lynne Grznar May 20, 1972. They later divorced. Mike later married the former Mary Kay Goldacker July 8, 1983. She survives. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield, IL. Mike was employed as a retail buyer with Big “R” in Springfield, IL, for 22 years. An avid muscle car fan, especially his Pontiac GTO, he greatly enjoyed attending car shows and detailing cars. Mike loved the outdoors, and his many interests found him enjoying shelling at the beach, caring for his landscaping and gardens, and being a campground host at Sangchris Lake. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. Mike especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, who were very dear to him.

2 daughters, Tara (David) Burdell of Chatham, IL and Tecia (Brian) Silvester of Staunton, IL
3 brothers, Mark (Brenda) Lowe of Gillespie, IL; Steven (Mary) Lowe of Butler, IL; and Brian Lowe of Pana, IL
5 grandchildren, Hailee (Alex) Leicht of Sarasota, FL; Braydon Cox of Benld; Ashton (Caleb) Crawford of Whitestown, IN; Ally Burdell of Chatham, IL; and Cayden Silvester of Staunton, IL
1 step grandchild, Alex (Haley) Silvester of Shipman, IL.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Lester Lowe.
A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield, IL. Rev. Cassie Sexton-Riggs, Associate Regional Minister Christian Church Disciples of Christ, will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
