Mary E. Tiemann

Mary Elizabeth Tiemann, 97, of Litchfield, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was born on January 14, 1929, in Kirkwood, MO, a daughter of Charles Henry & Mary Elizabeth (Bay) Dickinson. Mary graduated from high school with the Class of 1947. She married Maynard H. Tiemann on March 31, 1950. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2010.

Mary attended the Lutheran School of Nursing in St. Louis, where she earned her nursing degree. She later worked as a Registered Nurse and dedicated 10 years of service to HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and volunteered her time with activities. A devoted homemaker, Mary was known for her love of reading, needlepoint, cross-stitching, and embroidery. She also spent much of her time tending to her flower gardens.

Daughter, Judy (John) Carter of Edwardsville, IL

6 Grandchildren, Aaron (Ally) Tiemann, William (Melanie) Tiemann, Shawn (Lorena) Tiemann, Micah (Emilie) Carter, Bethany (Caleb) Payne, Jordan (Carolyn) Carter

15 Great-grandchildren

In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Charles Dickinson.

Funeral services for Mary will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Stephen Schmidt of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Litchfield Food Pantry.
