Mary Louise (Allen) Jones

Mary Louise Jones, 97, of Litchfield, passed away Thurs., March 3, 2022 at 6:50 p.m. at Heritage Health in Litchfield. She was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Barnett, IL, a daughter of Christopher C. and Rosey (Byers) Allen. She married William Robert “Bud” Jones on Sept. 6, 1942 in Rossville, GA. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2001. During the WWII era, Mrs. Jones was employed as a riveter with the Curtis-Mathis Corp., and was a homemaker. Mrs. Jones was a member of First Baptist Church in Litchfield where she volunteered as a church nursery attendant for several years. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed crocheting and fishing with her husband before he passed away.

Mrs. Jones is survived by:

2 sons, Larry A. (Ty) Jones of Maryville, IL and Don L. (Sherry) Jones of St. Peters, MO

4 grandchildren, Marcy (Bryan) Conguta of Tampa, FL; Todd (Tiana) Jones of Maplewood, MO; David (Jill) Jones of St. Charles, MO and Kimberly Jones of St. Louis, MO.

5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Geneiva Elliott; Cleo Allen; Ida Allen; Ruby Allen; Lucille Landers; Lucy Makler; Darlene Allen; Christine Schoen and Elma Allen (in infancy).

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held on Tues., March 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Rev. Gary Schwab of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. A funeral procession will line up at Plummer Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m.
