Mary Louise (Simmons) Flynn

Mary Louise Flynn, 80, of rural Raymond, formerly of Litchfield, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 3:55p.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hillsboro.

Born August 12, 1944 in East Chicago, Indiana. A daughter of Wilton Roland “Poke” Simmons, Sr. and Genevieve Theresa (Lasko).  Mary was a waitress for many years at the former Annex Café and Horn’s Restaurant.  She was then employed for several years at Echlin Manufacturing and retired from there.  Mary enjoyed reading, going to yard sales, floral gardening and feeding the birds.

She married Harold Wayne Flynn November 21, 1975 at the First Baptist Church in Litchfield, and he survives.  Additional survivors include her sons; Danny Hughes of Raymond, Jeff (Donna) Hughes of Salinas, CA., Michael (Debbie) Flynn of Crestview, FL., and Scott Flynn of Litchfield.  Brothers; Melvin “Hop” Simmons of Flat Rock, NC., Kenneth Simmons of Litchfield, Wilton Simmons, Jr., and Joe Simmons of Litchfield.  Sisters; Joyce Gifford of Bement, IL, Barbara (Ronald) Johnson of Litchfield, and Lillie Blevins of Litchfield.  Grandchildren; Joey, Zachary and Bailey Hughes, Beau and Katelin Flynn. Several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Services for Mary will be held at a later date.   The family suggests memorials to:
