Linda Sue Hammel

Linda Sue Hammel, 71, of Highland, IL, formerly of Litchfield, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 5:23 am, at the DuQuoin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on January 13, 1951, in Litchfield, the daughter of Bernard & Vera (DeSart) Clark.  She was employed as a checker at Schnuck’s Supermarkets in O’Fallon & was a member of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union. She is survived by:

Her son, Craig (Laura) Hammel of Etta, MS,

her daughter, Brooke (Brad) Lam of Carbondale,

her brother, John (Connie) Clark of Greenville,

and three grandchildren, Zachary Hammel-Brown, Brittany Hammel and Lauren Hammel.

She was preceded in death by her parents & her brother, Glen M. Clark, who was a POW during the Korean War.

A graveside service will be at Edgewood Cemetery in Litchfield, IL, Friday, August 19th at 11:00 am.
