Obituary
Leonard Milton Holmgrain, 90, of Litchfield, IL, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at Carlinville Rehab and Nursing in Carlinville. Mr. Holmgrain was born January 5, 1933 in Gordon, NE, a son of Floyd Harold and Lela (Lockwood) Holmgrain. He graduated from Gordon High School, obtained his undergraduate degree from Chadron State College and the University of Nebraska with a Masters Degree in Business and Hospital Administration. Mr. Holmgrain proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He and the former Marie Jean Blundell were married July 31, 1955. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2022. Mr. Holmgrain was employed for many years as a hospital administrator at Kosciusko Hospital in Warsaw, IN. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Mizpah Shrine. He was an avid woodworker, art collector, and traveled extensively with his wife through the years.

A daughter, Diane Hardy of Carlinville, IL
A grandson, Joseph (Lexi) Hardy of Thayer, IL
A brother, Everette (Joan) Holmgrain of South Dakota
A sister, Phyllis Simpson of Nebraska
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Holmgrain and Ernest Holmgrain.
There are no services planned for Mr. Holmgrain. Memorials in his honor may be directed to the Summer Repertory Theatre program at Blackburn College, 700 College Avenue, Carlinville, IL, 62626.
