Larry Gene Everett

Larry Gene Everett, 85, of Harvel, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 2:32 p.m. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. He was born July 25, 1937, in Litchfield, a son of Jessie Glenn and Edna Pauline (Fisher) Everett. Mr. Everett was a Veteran, serving in the Illinois National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves. He and the former Gloria June Schmidt were married on August 31, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She survives. Mr. Everett was employed for many years as an automotive detailer, working for Hittmeyer Auto Sales, Bandy Chevrolet, Raymond Ford and Victory Lane Ford. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and going to car shows. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and decorating for Christmas. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. A sister, Sheila Reed of Iuka, IL

A sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Mize of Bunker Hill, IL

Several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Everett was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Mr. Everett will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Raymond-Harvel Ambulance Service.
