Karen “Nadene” Lawson, 82, of Walshville, Illinois, passed away March 29, 2023, at 7:00 a.m. at her residence. She was born April 27, 1940 in Litchfield, Illinois, a daughter of Russell and Vivian (Osburn) Hemken. She attended Walshville Grade School and Litchfield High School. In 1956, she married George Leonard “Bill” Law and they divorced in 1962. She and Oley E. Lawson married September 21, 1964. He survives. She was employed at Hillsboro Glass, CPC/Rexcel, Barry Care Center, and was a loving homemaker. Mrs. Lawson was a member of the Walshville Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, camping, and swimming. A lover of animals, she especially enjoyed her dogs. She especially cherished time spent with her family, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Joanne Cartwright; a son, Jerry Russell Law; and 2 great-grandsons, Landon Michael Lawrence and Oakley Allen Petcher.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lawson will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Rudy Elam will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
