Karen Marie (Jones) Butts

Karen Marie Butts, 79, of Litchfield, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11:14 p.m. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was born in Litchfield on March 30, 1944, a daughter of Lloyd F. and Pauline (Cruthis) Jones.  She was a graduate of Litchfield Community High School, Class of 1962. 

Mrs. Butts was employed by the State of Illinois, Department of Mental Health for several years.  She was then employed by the Litchfield Carnegie Public Library, and retired from there.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. She enjoyed cooking for her family.  Her favorite activities were bowling, fishing and playing bingo.

Karen Married Donald Franklin Butts on June 24, 1986 in Hillsboro, IL., and he survives.  Other survivors include; her son, Timothy (Deb) Lewis of Viola, AR., daughter, Cynthia (Roger Childers) Lewis of Litchfield, and step daughter, Denise (Chuck) Gillette of Donnellson, IA., her sister Linda Clevenger of Chatham, IL.   Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews

She also leaves behind her two pets; Her dog, Bennie, and cat Affton.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her step father, Alfred A. Sample.

No services are planned at this time.  The Plummer Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
