Joyce LaVonne Schwabe, 93, a loving soul and caring mother of Litchfield, joined our creator on Sat., Jan. 23, 2021 at 4:45 a.m. in Hillsboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro. She was born on December 24, 1927, in Raymond, IL, and was a daughter of Oscar and Mary Louise (Flint) Johnson. She married Robert Earl Schwabe, Morrisonville, on June 30, 1950 who preceded her in death on December 20, 1967. Mrs. Schwabe graduated from Raymond High School in 1945 and later graduated from a beauty school in Decatur, IL. She was both owner and the beautician at LaVonne’s Beauty Shop in Morrisonville, IL, for 5 years. She was later the owner of the Schwabe Jewelry store, worked for St. Francis Hospital and WSMI Radio for 35 years. She was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield where she enjoyed singing in the choir, and as an active member of the Litchfield Women’s Club, Zonta Club and St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Schwab enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and traveling to Texas. She is survived by:

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; Sisters Lois Goodwin and Doris June Johnson (in infancy).
Lois Goodwin family includes nephews Terry (Joyce) Goodwin of Herscher, IL; Larry (Linda) Goodwin of Geneseo, IL; and nieces, Karen (Dick) Mowers of Geneseo, IL; and Sharon Dixon of Moline, IL.
Services for Mrs. Schwabe will be held on Wed., January 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield with Rev. Jake Wetterlin of St. Timothy United Methodist Church will officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
