Joyce Fesser Obituary

Joyce Wilma Fesser, 82, of Farmersville, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. She was born in Hillsboro, IL, on March 4, 1944, the daughter of Orlan F. and Wilma E. (Schweizer) Hagemeier. She graduated from Nokomis High School. Joyce married Larry A. Fesser on August 16, 1964, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis. They enjoyed nearly 62 years of marriage. She took pleasure in being a farm wife, mother, grandmother, and was an excellent homemaker. Her other favorite past times included cross stitching, playing Qwirkle with family and friends, and tending to her flowers and landscaping.  Joyce was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvel, where she valued fellowship with Christian friends, served as church treasurer, taught Sunday school, volunteered for Vacation Bible School, and served on the Altar Guild and Archive Committee. She was a member of Connections Group where she cherished lifelong friendships.  Additionally, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, making wonderful memories while touring all fifty of the United States and seventeen countries.

Husband, Larry Fesser of Farmersville

Daughter, Susan (Larry) Krumholz of Eureka, IL

Son, Mark (Tara) Fesser of O’Fallon, MO

Sister, Nancy (Jack) DeWerff of Nokomis

Brother, Jim (Nancy) Hagemeier of Taylorville

Grandchildren, Brad (Fiancée Olivia Beltramea) Krumholz, Katie Krumholz, Derek Fesser, Taylor Fesser, and Jacqueline Fesser.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant daughter, Sheila Kay Fesser, on September 9, 1974.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvel. Burial will follow in Morrisonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, June 24, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 402 N. Monroe St., Harvel, IL, 62538.
