Joseph Anthony Geninatti

Joseph Anthony Geninatti, 74, of Litchfield, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at his residence. He was born on April 10, 1948 in Carlinville, IL , a son of Arthur Eugene and Dorothy Elizabeth Alma (Rose) Geninatti. Joe was employed by Litchfield Walmart #213 for 35 years in maintenance. He was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship in Litchfield and enjoyed camping, fishing, and his grandchildren. Joe’s  first marriage to the former Diana Budd later ended in divorce. He married Patricia Ann (Busby) Buffington in 1996 and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, Joe is survived by:

1 step-son, Albert James Buffington of Litchfield.

1 step-daughter-in-law, Jodi White of Irving, IL.

1 brother, Freddie Geninatti of Livingston, IL.

2 sisters, Rosa Wilmore of Alton, IL and Anita Geninatti of St. Louis, MO.

3 grandchildren, Krystin (fiancé Cody Hale) Buffington; Bo Buffington; and Brooke Buffington.

2 great-grandchildren, Connor Dever and Abby Buffington.

Several nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, John Geninatti and Art Geninatti.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Faith Christian Fellowship in Litchfield. Rev. Albert Chaney will officiate. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of service. A dinner will follow at Litchfield VFW. Memorials may be directed to Faith Christian Fellowship in Litchfield.
