John Henry Riemann, Sr., 71, of Litchfield, passed away on Tues., May 25, 2021 at 2:47 a.m. in St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on May 5, 1950, in Springfield, IL, a son of Everett Marshall and Lois Frances (Westbrook) Riemann. Mr. Riemann was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during Vietnam and was stationed in Germany. He worked at Boeing and Cessna in Wichita, KS. In his later years he worked at Fesser Pork Farms in Morrisonville, Best Western in Carlinville, and Golden Circle Nutrition as a Kitchen Aid & Repairman. Mr. Riemann attended church regularly at New Hope Baptist Church in North Litchfield, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Harvel. He enjoyed 4 wheelers, riding his Honda Ruckus Scooter, and was nicknamed “Scooter.” He especially loved his dogs, calling them his “fur babies.” John is survived by:

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Christopher Riemann in infancy, & John H. Riemann, Jr.
Graveside memorial service will be held on Tues., June 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL. Rev. Roy Eller of New Hope Baptist Church will officiate. Masks will be required at Camp Butler for those attending the service. Memorials may be directed to Macoupin County Adopt-A-Pet, or Litchfield Food Pantry.
