John Calvin Guinn, 57, of Litchfield, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 9:54 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. Mr. Guinn was born October 12, 1965, in Litchfield, a son of Gene and Gretchen (Buskohl) Guinn. He graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1983 and served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a correctional officer by IL Department of Corrections at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro. Mr. Guinn was a member of Litchfield Southern Baptist Church and Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634. He enjoyed gardening and was a dog enthusiast who dearly loved his dog, Lily.

His mother, Gretchen Guinn of Litchfield,
2 daughters, Danielle (Ray) Norton, and Erin (Justin) Wakefield, both of Hope Mills, NC,
1 son, Dustin (Shanna) Guinn of Sanford, NC,
1 brother, Tony E. (Lanette) Guinn of Mt. Olive,
6 grandchildren, Austin Guinn; Dallas Stevens; Blake Gunter; Jace Norton; Cadence Wakefield; and Cyrus Wakefield.
He was preceded in death by his father Gene and one grandson, infant Coda Wakefield.
Memorial services for Mr. Guinn will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Gary Schwab of First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or PAWS Care of Montgomery County.
