Jerry Dever Obituary

Jerry Lee Dever, 86, of Litchfield, passed away on Mon, Feb. 3, 2020 at 1:36 p.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield.  He was born on Oct. 10, 1933, in Ramsey, IL, a son of Ralph Edward and Jessie (Neeley) Dever.  Mr. Dever was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  Jerry graduated from Ramsey High School with the Class of 1952.  He married the former Elizabeth Ann Rainey on May 12, 1956 in Ramsey at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She survives.  Mr. Dever owned Jerry Dever Signs in Litchfield and was a professional sign painter.  He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield.  Jerry enjoyed horses, going to rodeos, and watching westerns.  He collected Red Ryder comic books and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  In addition to his wife Ann, he is survived by:

                            Kenny (Earllena) Dever of Litchfield

2 daughters,        Lisa (Mike) Tex of Pana

                            Pam (Roger) Burdell of Litchfield

1 sister,               MaryAnn (Harry) Petitt of Decatur

11 grandchildren

24 great-grandchildren

Mr. Dever was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Patrick and Dennis Dever; 1 brother, Ronnie Dever.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church.  Fr. Dan Willenborg will preside.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield.  Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  The family suggests memorials to Coats for Kids or American Heart Association.
