Jerry Bradburn Obituary

Jerry Wayne Bradburn, 65, of Lake KaHo, Mt. Olive, IL passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 6:01 a.m. at his home. 

Born December 29, 1954 in Hillsboro, IL., a son of Raymond Earl and Beulah Mae (Saulters) Bradburn.  Jerry worked for his parents who owned and operated Four Seasons Greenhouse in Litchfield until the family business sold.  Jerry then went to work for Norfolk & Western / Norfolk Southern Railroad and worked on the track repair crew and retired as Foreman. Jerry opened and operated with his wife Donna, Chapp’s Tavern on West Edwards St. in Litchfield and sold his interest to her due to his illness. 

Over the years, Jerry was an active member of Shoal Creek Chapter of A.B.A.T.E.  He was an avid motorcyclist and muscle car guy and enjoyed going to races. An accomplished drummer, Jerry played in several area bands with his brothers Tommy and Ronnie. The bands include Blue Crystal, Asurewood, and Kustom Made, the house band at Chapp’s.  He liked to play pool and darts. Jerry was a big Cubs fan. Jerry liked to putz around on his tractor, and gave neighbors a hand clearing their driveways of snow over the years.

Jerry married the former Donna Len Tinzman on October 4, 1975, and she survives. Other survivors include:

Son; Jerry Wayne “J.W” Bradburn, II of Litchfield, daughter Jessica (Michael) Vickery of Litchfield, three brothers; Tommy (Marie Kelly) Bradburn of Litchfield, Ronnie Bradburn of Litchfield, Todd (Beth) Bradburn of Seminary, MS. Two sisters: Shirley (Jim) Hubbard of Litchfield and Pat (Jim) Moultrie of Staunton, IL  Seven grandchildren,  Alex (Saydi Taylor) Bradburn, Addison, Mason, Lilly, and Harley Bradburn,  Kaia and Amari Vickery.

Preceding Jerry in death are his parents and two brothers, Albert and Billie Rae Bradburn.

A graveside funeral service will he held Wednesday, September 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Rev. Mike Rogers, pastor of the Litchfield Southern Baptist Church will officiate.    A funeral procession line-up will be arranged at the Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield starting at 10:30 A.M.

Visitation hours will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, and will be a walk through – pay your respects format.  It is asked that you please wear a mask while in attendance.

The family asks for donations in memory of Jerry please be directed to the Litchfield Food Pantry or Coats For Kids.
