Barbara Jean “Jeannie” Knuth, 75, passed away at her home in Litchfield on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 8:15 a.m. She was born August 15, 1949, a daughter of Jasper Tipsword and Mildred M. (Bean) Loyd, and her “Pop”, Harold Loyd.
Jeannie was employed for several years at Roller Derby, and as a housekeeper at The Gardens in Litchfield. She was an avid Cardinals baseball fan, enjoyed dancing and playing bingo, and cherished time spent with her family.
Jeannie is survived by:
A son, Richard (Dawn) Wessling of Florida
A daughter, Tami (Todd) Burdell of Litchfield, IL
2 sisters, Nancy (Jim) Lang of Hillsboro, IL and Judi (Ralph) Hodges of Taylorville, IL
2 brothers, Bob (Vicki) Tipsword of Ocala, FL and Randy (Peggy) Loyd of Florida
A sister-in-law, Anita Booher
4 grandchildren, Lucas (Liz) and Damon Burdell; and Lauren and Anthony Wessling
A great-grandchild, Theodore Burdell
Several nieces and nephews.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Mary Lou Hollis, Bill Estell, Don Estell, Rocky Estell, Evelyn Odle, and Harold Loyd, Jr.
Graveside funeral services for Jeannie will be on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Rev. Gary Schwab of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. A funeral procession will line up at 10:45 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home to process to the cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hearts United in Litchfield.
