Jean Carol Niemann, 94, of Litchfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026. She was born on September 24, 1931, in Lake Park, Minnesota, a daughter of Burley Q. and Carrie (Anderson) Stumbo.
Jean grew up in Ulen, Minnesota, where she completed her high school education before pursuing a degree as a bookkeeper. Her dedication to her studies and her profession reflected her strong work ethic and determination.
Jean married Don Niemann and built a life filled with love and family. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Don; children Lynne (infant), Scott Niemann, and Donna Clark; her parents; and seven siblings. Despite these losses, Jean remained the steadfast foundation of her family, offering unwavering support and love to those around her.
She is survived by her children Laurel Camden, Carrie Heck (Jay), Jeff Niemann (Sandy), Brad Niemann (Mary Jane), and Eric Niemann (Janet). Jean’s legacy also lives on through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
Jean was an avid reader who found joy in the written word. She had a passion for gardening that brought beauty to her surroundings and sewed quilts that became treasured keepsakes for members of her family. Her creativity and dedication to these hobbies were a testament to the care she poured into everything she did.
Those who knew Jean remember her as an inspiration—a woman of sharp wit and humor who always listened with genuine interest. Her wisdom guided many through life’s challenges, and her love for family was boundless. She was truly the solid rock upon which her family relied—a source of strength and comfort that will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
May Jean’s memory bring solace to all who loved her and inspire them to carry forward the values she held dear.
