James Allen “Jim” Hoffman, 86, of Wilsonville, formerly of Vandalia, passed away on Mon., July 12, 2021 at 2:22 p.m. in Decatur Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1935, in Smithboro, IL, a son of Vernon and Florence (Koonce) Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Jim graduated from Mulberry Grove High School with the Class of 1953. His first marriage was to Shirley Jean Crane on April 14, 1956. She preceded him in death in 1983. He later married the former Wilma Ruth (Beck) Chapman on Jan. 1, 1985 in Coffeen. She survives. Jim worked in the tool crib at Crane Packing in Vandalia. He was always very active in church and enjoyed being a song leader and Sunday school superintendent at previously attended churches. Jim was currently a member of Litchfield Assembly of God. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Wilma. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by:

Mr. Hoffman was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Shirley; 2 sisters, Edna Jernigan & Mary Woker.
Funeral services will be held on Fri., July 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Jeff Martin of Litchfield Assembly of God will officiate. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to Litchfield Assembly of God.
