Harry Weller Obituary

Harry Edwin Weller, 79 of Litchfield, IL, died Monday, May 16, 2022, in his home. Mr. Weller was born October 24, 1942, in Litchfield, IL, a son of Edgar Taake and Mildred Irene (Hamilton) Weller. He served in the US Navy. He worked for Monterey Coal until he retired.

Harry loved living in his country paradise, crafting masterful pieces in his woodshop and walking the pathways through the curated acres of trees.  He loved to hunt and walk the stream alongside his 6-pack of Jack Russell terriers.  One of his guiding principles was that of being self-reliant.  Rarely asking for help, but always ready to offer help to anyone, Harry became a beloved, trusted counsel to family and friends.  His masterful quick wit and charming humor endeared him to all as anyone who spent time with him will attest.

Generous beyond any expectation, Harry consistently and selflessly did for those he loved.  He taught those willing to learn.  He mentored and guided.  He was a leader filled with greatness who made us all better for having known him.

The driver for all the good deeds, the muse to his magnificent life works was his adoring wife, Patty, who tirelessly supplied loving care for him through his last breath.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. (Komor) Weller, a daughter Cheryl Weller of Litchfield, and one brother Marvin (Jackie) Weller of Independence, MO, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by daughter Jeannie Riemenschneider, 6 brothers, Dale Weller, Edgar Weller, Jr., Jack Weller, Dewey Weller, LeRoy Weller, all of Litchfield, and Dennis Weller of Springfield, 5 sisters, Eve Joyce Westwood, Maxine Kluthe, Dolores McGlothlin, Freda Kieslar and Bonnie Smith.
