Harold "Clyde" Ellinger, Sr.

Harold Wayne “Clyde” Ellinger, Sr., 82, of Litchfield, passed away Sun., Feb. 24, 2019 at 11:04 a.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Gillespie.  He was born on Apr. 24, 1936 in Gary, IN, a son of Bill & Agnes (Durbin) Ellinger.  He married Marjorie Ann Wendel on Apr. 14, 1956 in Litchfield.  She preceded him in death on July 22, 2012.  They owned & operated Ellinger Sanitation Service in Litchfield for many years until they retired.  Harold was a member of Moose Lodge #1634 in Litchfield where he had held several offices as well as being Governor and Past Governor.  He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and his animals.  In his younger years, he liked to hunt and was a licensed deer rescuer.  He especially enjoyed his family and their family get-togethers. He is survived by:

   2 sons,                Bill (Donna) Ellinger, Sr. of Litchfield
                               Harold (Debbie Malloy, fiancée) Ellinger, Jr. of Hillsboro

   3 daughters,        Linda (Jesse) Arnold of Mt. Olive; Debbie (Mike) Logsdon: Sally (Kent) McBrain, all of Litchfield

   15 grandchildren

   10 step-grandchildren

   33 great-grandchildren

   1 great-great grandchild

   1 brother, Dick (Faye) Ellinger of Lewistown

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; 2 granddaughters, Leigh Ann Logsdon & Amy Logsdon; 3 brothers, Bill Ellinger, Jr. (killed in action during WWII) Lamoine Ellinger & Herb Ellinger; 1 sister, Helen Hood.

Funeral services will be held Wed., Feb. 27, 2019 at 12 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Rev. Jon Magnuson, of Beacon Church in Litchfield, will officiate. 

Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. 

The family suggests memorials to the Litchfield Moose Scholarship Fund.
