Gwendolyn N. Moffat Davis

Gwendolyn Naomi Moffat Davis, “Mom Gwen,” 71, of Litchfield, passed away on Mon., April 8, 2019 at 3:41 p.m. in HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.  Gwen was born on Aug. 4, 1947 in Hillsboro, IL, a daughter of Norman Calvin & Helen Lucille (Armentrout) Moffat. She graduated from Witt High School in 1965 and then went on to attend Greenville College in 1966.  She graduated from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK in 1969.  From there, Gwen studied at Trinity Bible College, also in Tulsa.  After graduating from there, she furthered her studies at Christ For the Nations in Dallas, TX, graduating in 1971.  While there, she served as the Chairman of Child Evangelism Department from 1977 – 1979.  Gwen was the Founder and Executive Director of Latter Rain Ministries, Inc. in Litchfield, IL.  LRM was established in 1984.  She is survived by:

   1 brother,         James C. (Judy) Moffat of Ottsville, PA

   1 sister,            Mary J. (David) Hansen of Rockleigh, NJ

   Nieces,             Lisa (Armando) Tovar; Julie (Chris) Abiuso

   Great-niece,     Cristina Tovar; Larisa (John) McGee

   Nephew,          David C. (Elena) Hansen

   Great-nephews,        Armando David Tovar; Nathaniel & Andrew Abiuso

                                    Daniel (Rachel) Hansen; Joshua & Michael Hansen

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private burial was in Witt Cemetery in Witt, IL.

A Celebration of Life Service commemorating Gwen’s life will be held on Sat., Apr. 27, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Living Stones Church in Litchfield. 

There will be no visitation held prior to the service.  Due to limited seating, an RSVP is required. Please call the LRM office at 217-324-6215. 

For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed.
