Franklin "Frank" W. Davis, Jr.

Franklin Wayne Davis Jr., 67, of Butler, passed away on Thurs., Sept. 30, 2021 at 9:50 a.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro.  He was born on April 21, 1954, in Danville, IL, a son of Franklin Wayne and Myra Jane (Hale) Davis Sr.  He graduated from Watseka Comm. High School with the Class of 1972.  He went on to attend Danville Jr. College, Illinois State University, and Illinois Western College.  In his early years, Frank was a salesman with Schien Equipment Company in Carlinville.  He later was employed with Roller Derby Skate Corp, Sierra Manufacturing both in Litchfield, and most recently he was a grain hauler for Rhodes Farms in Carlinville.  He married the former Bonnie Faye Pruitt on June 18, 1983 at an outdoor ceremony at Lake Lou Yaeger in Litchfield.  She survives.  Frank was a member of the Carlinville B.P.O.E. Lodge #1412 and was past Exalted Ruler at Litchfield Elks Lodge #654.  He raised Morgan Horses, enjoyed boating, traveling, and going to NASCAR races.  In addition to his wife Bonnie, Frank is survived by:

Frank was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William Pruitt.

Funeral service will be held Tues., Oct. 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Rev. Dr. John Davis, a cousin to Frank, will officiate.  Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.  Visitation will be held on Mon., Oct. 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made out to the family of Frank Davis c/o Bonnie Davis.
