Frank C. Skelton, 78, of Litchfield, passed away the evening of March 27, 2025, surrounded by his family, at Aspen Creek of Troy. Frank was born in Litchfield, a son of Roy James and Eliza Marie (Crane) Skelton. He graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1965 and was known as the “class clown”. He went to work for the Norfolk and Western (now known as Norfolk and Southern) Railroad, which he retired from in 2001. A life-long lover of all things train-related, he also enjoyed shooting, sporting clays, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Frank and the former Beverly Kalaher were married in 1967, and they later divorced. He married Sheri Ray in 2003. She survives.

His children, Sean Skelton (Stacy) of Edwardsville, IL; Rebecca Cusanelli (Al) of Maryville, IL; and Ryan Skelton (Sarah Biggs) of Litchfield, IL
His grandchildren, Hannah Skelton of St. Louis MO; Claire Schuessler of Los Angeles, CA; Jake Skelton of Granite City, IL; and Carlie Schuessler of Maryville, IL.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marie Skelton; a brother, John (Jack) Skelton; and a sister, Susan Mayfield.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield.
