Floyd Perkins, 75, of Litchfield passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 6:21 p.m. in HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born on December 19, 1946 in Neelyville, Missouri, a son of Chester and Edna (Brooks) Perkins. He attended Poplar Bluff schools in Missouri and was a laborer with Litchfield Local Labor Hall. He married the former Donna Jean Sharp on December 4, 1987 in Hillsboro, she survives.
Mr. Perkins was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #51 in Hillsboro as well as a member of First Baptist Church in Litchfield. He was an avid fisherman focusing mainly on bass fishing. He loved his family and always put them first.
In addition to his wife Donna, Mr. Perkins is survived by:
2 sons, Floyd (Bub) (Christine) Perkins of Litchfield; and Heath (Bo) Perkins of Springfield, Ill.
2 daughters, Joyce (Sean) Reece of Pilot, Virginia, and Kelli Slater of Springfield, Ill.
14 grand children and 8 great grand children.
Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by his parents, a son James Dressen, 3 brothers, Lloyd Perkins, James Perkins and Ed Perkins, 1 sister Christine Perkins, as well as twin sisters in infancy.
Memorial service for Mr. Perkins will be Monday April 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield with son-in-law Pastor Sean Reece of Heartcry Missions in Christiansburg, Virginia. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, St. Louis and Paws Care of Montgomery County.
