Eunice Swanson Obituary

Eunice Oneida Swanson, 93, of Litchfield, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born August 27, 1932, in Whiteville, TN, a daughter of Robert Boyd and Nettie Sue (Raines) Parker. She first married Randolph R. Campbell and together they had four children before divorcing. She later married Ray Albert Swanson on November 17, 1972, in Memphis, TN, adding an additional four children to her family. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage until his passing on December 2, 2016. Mrs. Swanson owned Swanson’s Beauty Shop in Litchfield, taking pride in making local women look their best. She was employed as General Assistance Clerk for the South Litchfield Township, retiring in December 2024, after twenty years of service.  She was an election judge, and a life member of Women of the Moose. Additionally, she was a member of the Massey-Harris Tractor Club, where she and her husband Ray traveled to many of the club shows over the years.

Her son, Randall (Peggy) Campbell of Whiteville, TN

Her daughters, Janice Cryer and Shannon (Brad) Schroeder, both of Litchfield, IL

Her stepsons, Mike (Nancy) Swanson of Orion, IL, Pat (Joyce) Swanson of Holden, MO, and Kelly (Marlena) Swanson of Litchfield

Her stepdaughter, Lisa (Steve) White of Mt. Pleasant, SC

Her brother, Robert (Barbara) Boyd Parker of Somerville, TN

3 grandchildren, Brian (Becky) Campbell, Robert (fiancée Natasha Knoche) Cryer,Jr., and Sarah (C.J. Sanders) Schroeder

3 great-grandchildren, Jacob Campbell, Cameron Campbell, and Ava Cryer

Several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Swanson was preceded in death by her parents, Robert B. and Nettie Sue Parker; her son, Michael Campbell; her son-in-law Robert Anthony Cryer, Sr., and siblings J.W. Parker, Elizabeth Cook, Nonie Kirkland, and Agnes White.

No local services will be held for Mrs. Swanson. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Whiteville, TN, at a later date.

 In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that a donation to Hearts United, 110 N. Jackson St, Litchfield, IL 62056, a cause near and dear to Mrs. Swanson.
