Erma Louise Johnson, 90, of Litchfield, passed away on Fri., Dec. 11, 2020 at 4:20 a.m. at Heritage Manor in Gillespie. She was born on Sept. 23, 1930, in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Herman F. and Martha (Sewing) Nobbe. In her earlier years, Erma was a milk tester at the former Litchfield Dairy. She also worked in the gift shop at St. Francis Hospital. She married Raymond Heye Johnson on September 3, 1950 and was a farm wife for several years with him. He survives. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, where she volunteered her time with the Zion Ladies Aide and sang in the Choir. She enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers, Florida, going to parades and Homecomings, sausage suppers, going to the river, eating at the Gardens and visiting Amish Farms. In addition to her husband Raymond, she is survived by:
1 daughter-in-law, Christy Johnson
2 grandchildren; Angela Johnson, Corey (Angie) Johnson
1 great-grandchild; Blair Johnson
Erma was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Robert “BJ” Johnson; 1 sister, Ruth Jubelt.
Funeral services for Erma will be held Tues., Dec. 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Rev. Fred Kraemer will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held on Mon., Dec. 14, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Memorials may be designated to the Lutheran Hour. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing rules will apply and masks will be required.
